Saturday, September 19: take the two-hour block
On a summer Saturday I tell people to take the hour, because the riding area is crowded and the second hour is spent dodging pontoons. This Saturday, take the two hours at $150 to $250. The riding area will have a handful of skis in it rather than dozens, the water is flat enough to run wide open from the counter's marked zone to the edge of the no-wake boundary near Crab Island and back several times, and the second hour is when you stop riding like a first-timer and start carving. Two skis for two hours land around $325 to $525 all in with waiver and fuel; a one-hour rental for two skis is $200 to $300.
Any hour works Saturday, but the 8 to 10am departures get the flattest water and the dolphins in the East Pass on the outgoing tide after the 4:32am high, which guided tours at $110 to $200 per ski are built around. Afternoon rides are warmer and just as flat with an east wind; the only afternoon consideration is the 4:48pm low, which puts the shallow sand on the Crab Island side at its shallowest, and most riding areas keep you off the bar anyway. Sunday, September 20: 9 to 11am, then hand the ski back
Sunday's 50 percent storm chance is timed after 1pm, and jet ski counters are the most conservative operators on the water about lightning: skis get called in the moment a cell shows within a few miles, and a rider a mile out from the dock with a storm building over the bay is exactly the situation the counters want to avoid. Rent a 9 to 11am hour, or a two-hour block only if you can launch by 9. The morning is glass with the west wind at 5, the pod is working the pass on the ebb after the 5:47am high, and you are back at the dock with an hour to spare.
Counters refund or reschedule in full when they cancel for weather and most credit lost time if a storm chases you in early, so there is no financial risk to a Sunday morning booking. What you do not want is a 1pm Sunday hour that becomes a 45-minute ride and a storm on the dock. Book the morning.

A one-hour rental is $85 to $150 and a two-hour rental is $150 to $250, 20 to 30 percent under peak summer.
